They never did seem to sound very refined, and I suspect that the crude plastic gear train may have stripped a couple of teeth. Whole mirror unit part #1777010 is 拢165 incl vat, and will need to transfer all the cosmetic bits over. Totally unfit for purpose, for a 3 year old car.!!!
I am having to lock the door manually as the remote key doesnt seem to be working. I am assuming the key is faulty or the battery is flat. The only way round this at the moment is to open the door, turn off the ignition, jump out of the car, lock the door manually then run away quickly. Problems with Mondeo Mk4. I have a Ford mondeo 2.0 140 bhp, and i麓m having some problems , the car as no cat , no dpf and egr is off and a soft remap. I am having a delay when i change gear, and when put foot back on accelerator. Also after 3000 rpm the car have very difficult to gain power and only when is coming down goes beyond 3500 rpm.

I have had 2 mondeo's now and an s max all between a 57 and 59 plate, every one of them has had an intermittent locking problem, one minute its working fine then nothing for a few days then it might be a week before it happens again or a couple of months, can anyone shed a light on what could be wrong

Sorry to see a few people are having problems with this, not sure what the problems are but I think anyone doing this needs to check the lock before buttoning everything up. After the lock is refitted to the door, take a screwdriver (or similar item) and push it into the latch to simulate shutting the door.
under the dashboard in the drivers footwell you will see module with 3 multiplugs into it. (you have to get into an awkward position to see it). just un-plug (ignition off!) these plugs, wait 1 min approx and plug back in. re-code remote as per manual (if you want the procedure confirmed just let me know). this works 99.999% of times, takes 2

A temporary fix can be to unscrew the top bolt of the three bolts on the lock, and get degreaser sprayed in with a straw through the bolt hole. This way you get some inside the lock mechanism.
