The file is found inside the Bannerlord folder. You can choose to delete the Watchdog.exe file or the entire Watchdog folder. Then try launching the game again. \steamapps\common\Mount & Blade II Bannerlord\bin\Win64_Shipping_Client\Watchdog Making sure that your OS, GPU drivers and Bannerlord are up to date.
Just fixed it. One of the patches must have changed this for some reason. Go to Documents > Mount and Blade II Bannerlord > Configs and open the engine_config file in notepad. Scroll down to "Disable sound = 1" and change the 1 to 0. Save and the sound should work. genius ! that has solved it lol thanks so much.

Hi okay i haven't played for 2 months and i haven't updated the game. I wanted to play, so I installed everything but I couldn't start the game. I tried everything but it still doesn't work, it probably has to do with taleworlds.mount and blade.launcher.exe. The taskbar shows me that the game starts but after 3 seconds it disappears.

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Mount & Blade II Bannerlord\bin\Win64_Shipping_Client then look for TaleWorlds.MountAndBlade.Launcher. Then Properties > Compatibility > Tick Option Run as Administrator. Won't work otherwise.
Uninstall the game, then Delete the “C:\Users\YOUR USER NAME\Documents\Mount and Blade II Bannerlord folder. Delete the "C:\ProgramData\Mount and Blade II Bannerlord folder. This is what it means to do a clean re-install. Those folders do not get removed when you just do an uninstall and have to be deleted manually.
If this can be fixed with a hotfix and the devs are aware of it, it shouldn't take longer than 1 or 2 days. If it needs more than a hotfix, then it could be weeks considering big patches need to go through Microsoft/Sony for approval. 2. GumbleGob • 8 mo. ago. I'm not sure.

I tried launching the regular game and then clicking 'Ctrl + E' at the main menu thinking that would activate the downloaded Modding Kit but nadda.
