The Nikon Z 70-180mm f/2.8 proves that relatively fast f/2.8 constant-aperture telephoto zooms don’t have to be big and heavy. Indeed, while most ‘trinity’ wide-angle, standard and telephoto zooms are typically hefty affairs, Nikon’s Z 17-28mm f/2.8, Z 28-75mm f/2.8 and this new Z 70-180mm lens are relatively compact and lightweight.

I once had a cheap Nikkor AF 70-210 (I think it was 210), and this one is way heavier (1300g) and bigger over all, though still is nice to hold. It balances good in the hands with the F5 attached. 7. Without any sign that Tamron is making the native lenses for Z mount, it is a very tempting option for Z users. Jeff_0000's gear list:

Any recommendation which 70-200 lens is better with Nikon D500. Sigma 70-200 F2.8 Sport. or. Tamron 70-200 F2.8 G2. Thanks. Not had any experience with the Sigma but did own the Tamron G2 for a while, I found the AF was inconsistent on the D500, better on my D800 but still missed inexplicably on occasions. Sold it and got a Nikon VR11.
70-200 F2.8 for use with D750. Sep 16, 2018. I tend to shoot small events for friends and family and get paid as "Gift" for providing good memories. I used this to update my kit. Currently I own a D750 and use it with Tamron 24-70 VC and Tamron 70-300 f4-5.6 VC. Both lenses have been excellent for what I do and am in love with th telephoto range. The Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 EX DG HSM Lens is compatible with the Sigma 1.4x EX DG and 2x EX DG Teleconverters . Aside a from one f-stop loss for each jump in focal length (1 and 2 stops respectively), the 70-200 shows some expected image degradation with the teleconverters. With the TCs, Sharpness and contrast show a decrease at wider apertures I am pondering getting my dream portrait lens (Nikkor 135mm f/2 DC), but the Sigma 135 f/1.8 has delayed my plans. In the meantime, the 80-200 f/2.8 is still a very capable portrait lens. For the price to performance ratio, it is hard to beat the lens. Very few sub $500 lens can perform to its standard IMHO.
